This talk presents one-dimensional organometallic sandwich molecular wires (SMWs) as a versatile platform for molecular spintronics. These hybrid structures exhibit half-metallicity, perfect spin filtering, and stimuli-responsive conductance switching. We elucidate the underlying mechanisms using crystal field theory and spin-dependent transport calculations, and demonstrate reversible switching between semiconducting, metallic, and half-metallic states via external stimuli. Finally, we discuss surface assembly strategies using heteroatomic ligands for seamless integration with semiconductor platforms, positioning SMWs as promising candidates for next-generation spintronic devices.

杨硕望(Shuo-Wang Yang)是新加坡科技研究局(A*STAR)高性能计算研究院(IHPC)材料科学与化学部门的高级首席科学家。他的主要研究兴趣围绕纳米结构与纳米材料性质的理论探究与预测,涵盖纳米线、纳米管以及配位纳米团簇等方向。他长期致力于分子表面吸附、组装、原位反应,以及分子电子学/自旋电子学及其多样化应用的研究。同时,他也从事热电材料、二维配位材料和拓扑材料等方面的探索。
